When a company is split into parts, it's critical that the companies that emerge from the split have their own unique story to tell.
That was the situation facing TimkenSteel when it emerged from a split of The Timken Company on June 30, 2014. The company had a 100-year-old history, but in its first-ever annual report, it needed a document that expressed the company's strategy and its way forward. And it needed to do it with powerful imagery and a tone of quiet confidence.
The inaugural annual report was produced by Marcus Thomas in a little over three months. Quick for any startup public company, even one that was 100 years old.
