The Role:                      

The Senior Talent Manager works proactively across all communities of practice to identify staffing needs, manage full-cycle recruitment, and build and maintain industry partnerships to ensure that Marcus Thomas is attracting and retaining top talent.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

General and Creative Recruitment:

  • Act as the full-cycle recruiting lead on all department talent acquisition needs (develop hiring brief, source candidates, resume reviews, phone screens, team interview coordination, debrief and closing hires). Aid in relocation when applicable.
  • Review portfolios for creative hires.
  • Manage applicant tracking system (JazzHR) for North America and LATAM.
  • Pipeline candidates for future roles, with a focus on diverse candidates; aim for 2-4 weekly.
  • Create and iterate training materials in partnership with Director of People for developing hiring managers and interviewees into confident and equitable members in the hiring process.
  • Stay on the forefront of innovative hiring practices.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with colleges, portfolio centers and institutions that focus on design, marketing and technology.
  • Attend annual career fairs at target schools.
  • Conduct organic outreach to target universities and portfolio schools for informational sessions to develop personal relationships.
  • Partner with the Chief Operations Officer on freelance hires; maintain our database of contract talent.
  • Maintain talent data and insights into agency hiring practices.

 

Intern Program:

  • Manage summer (and new quarterly) intern program, from hiring to creating a development plan for each intern, in partnership with managers.
  • Meet weekly with intern managers to ensure interns are engaged and gaining as much knowledge and experience from the agency as possible.
  • Meet with interns and intern managers to gain feedback on experience and how to optimize for future programs.

 

Community Engagement:

  • Manage relationships with key industry partners: MAIP, The One Club for Creativity, Marcus Graham Project, Bridge the Gap, MimConnect, Gradient Group, AIR: Allies in Recruiting, etc.
  • Speak at university and industry events as applicable.

 

YOUR IMPACT:

  • Partner with Director of D&I in leading the agency’s diversity recruitment efforts, with a goal of increasing hires of color 30% Year over Year
  • Partner with CoP leads and hiring managers to inform perspectives on talent evaluation in order to further expand the types of talent the agency is attracting and retaining.
  • Position Marcus Thomas as a top workplace locally, regionally and nationally through equitable hiring practices, ongoing learning and development opportunities, and an inclusive culture.
  • Develop a candidate experience that meets all people where they are, ensuring that all processes, procedures and protocols are equitable, inclusive and sustainable.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4+ years recruiting experience; marketing/advertising recruiting an added plus.
  • Strong initiative – proactive self-starter with ability to work independently, under little supervision.
  • Excellent writing and strong/persuasive presentation skills
  • Strong strategic planning skills.
  • Leadership qualities and influence within the agency and in the industry.

SEO Associate

Reports to:  SEO Manager 

 

The Role:                      

The SEO Associate will work closely with the SEO lead, account teams and external clients to develop and execute comprehensive, holistic SEO strategies for clients across a variety of verticals. They will build and maintain strong working relationships through client interaction and act as a key contributor in all day-to-day tasks and projects. Working closely with subject matter experts across the agency, the SEO Associate will support the vision and strategy of the agency and its clients.

 

Essential Duties and Resonsibilities:     

  • Conduct technical analysis and implementation to ensure compliance with current search engine indexing practices – including to structured data, robots.txt files, XML sitemaps, crawl errors, HTTP headers, page speed, mobile responsiveness, internal and external linking, etc.
  • Optimize on-site content, including title, description, header and image tags, and on-page copy
  • Review existing content and make topical recommendations to add new content to client websites
  • Conduct keyword research, including competitive research, and deliver strategic recommendations to improve rankings above competitors
  • Provide navigation and site structure recommendations
  • Provide URL and directory structure naming recommendations
  • Manage ongoing monitoring of client sites in support of best-in-class SEO practices
  • Work on migration and redirect strategies for new website launches to maintain and improve rankings post-launch
  • Keep yourself, our team and our processes up-to-date with the most current SEO strategies and tactics, including algorithm updates, and international SEO and industry news
  • Exhibit ongoing understanding of search engine marketing, how paid and organic search work together and how search fits into the overall digital media mix
  • Measure, monitor and report on SEO implementations and results

  • Derive meaningful insights from data, including optimization recommendations
  • Stay in-tune with the client’s business and customer so that marketing and organic search problems and opportunities may be anticipated
  • Be capable of working with other departments and make sure quality product is produced on time
  • Demonstrate that you are a strategic and innovative thinker. Have a strong POV on our strategic product and partner with leadership to ensure work is strategically strong from inception to execution.

 

Qualifications:

  • One to three years of SEO experience. Agency experience preferred.  
  • Ability to develop well-written, well-researched copy for search-related online marketing activities
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to the development of SEO strategies across clients in a variety of industries. Strategies should encompass all areas of SEO, including technical, on-site, off-site, content, competitive research, market research, etc.
  • Ability to analyze, evaluate and provide actionable recommendations for SEO best practices, both technical and non-technical
  • Experience with BrightEdge a plus, but not required
  • A self-starter with efficient time management and strong problem-solving skills
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills; commercially oriented, confident, outgoing, articulate, persuasive, with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Experience collaborating with a large account team working on multimedia channels
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint
